 | Частичный архив форума Nataly |

00:29 [KEB] OT: My ramblings on the movies and beyond
Zev to Xev- I really hadn't given it much thought until the films. Xev was all I had ever known. Now I have to say that I can see the changes, and I don't necesarily like all of them. Zev was warmer somehow. Perhaps because I see her as being a more vulnerable person than Xev. It seems that Zev felt her love for Kai more deeply than what Xev shows. I know Xev loves Kai,but IMHO she has pulled back from him somehow. Maybe because she has decided it is pointless, or maybe because she's lost some of what she felt. Yes, her scene in "Fluff Daddy" was touching. She was obviously in sincere pain. But she seems to have recovered nicely by "Magic Baby." Perhaps because she still has "dead" Kai in her life, perhaps because she is a love slave and has cluster lizard in her. I'm not certain. I understand that Xev has other DNA in her from what Lyekka did (show wise) and that Eva and Xenia are two different actresses (reality wise). I guess I'm just saying Zev was a more sympathetic character to me and I would have liked to see more of her.
Kai- It might be easy for some people to say Kai hasn't changed much, that the dead don't evolve, along with other things, la, la, la. But I don't think so. Kai has his sense of right and wrong, good and evil. In the movies, as I said in an earlier post, there was more of an attachment with him and Zev in a romantic sense. Even though he was being controlled by His Shadow at the end of "Gigashadow," the other elements such as asking Zev if she was all right while touching her arm, putting an arm around her in "Supernova"... those were tender moments that gave Kai more humanity. That disappeared in season 2. I'm not sure if that was the point where MM told the Beans that Kai was dead and should stay dead and not want to be alive or not, but something happened.
It seems that Kai still has little touches of life in him, though. His tone of voice often has a lot of feeling for someone who doesn't have emotions. As do certain facial expressions. And there are times when he seems angry. Can the dead reach a point where they have had enough of the b.s. of the living? I think so. In season 4, Kai seems to be willing to put up with a lot less than he once did!
Stan- Stan is a curious thing to me. In some ways he hasn't changed a bit. He's as weak, sex-oriented, prone to panic, and cowardly as he was in the films. But Stan also was a lot of strength and dedication that I don't think he's always given enough credit for. I cheer for the parts of "Gigashadow," "Brigadoom," and "Magic Baby" where Stan comes shining through. It's good every now and then for Stan to be the one to save the day, or show the determination to change what's going on. I like his character a lot. He adds comic relief. He is amusing/exasperating when being his usual self, ...
